We are pleased to welcome you to Château de la Resle a sustainable destination in France. Since our opening in 2010, we have focused on respecting the environment, starting from the design of the spaces and the choice of materials. We strive every day to minimise the impact of our activity on the environment while offering you an unforgettable stay. Our greatest challenge is proving that we don’t need to deprive ourselves of pleasure in order to make choices that respect the planet. This charter was drawn up with our team in order to propose practical actions that we have tested and approved together, without compromising your comfort and pleasure during your stay with us.

To raise awareness within our team and among our guests

As owners we constantly educate ourselves on issues around sustainable tourism and environmental preservation
Our teams are trained in eco-friendly approaches to their daily tasks
We choose our service providers and suppliers according to their environmental and social commitments
We provide our customers with an educational display encouraging eco-friendly choices
We offer electric bicycle rental and hiking trails to limit car travel

To minimize water and energy consumption

We have begun the process of replacing all the old windows with double-glazed windows
We have carried out major works to insulate all the roofs
We have set up more environmentally-friendly heating systems such as heat pumps and a wood-pellet boiler
All our lighting is LED which allows energy savings and a seamless experience for our customers
We have installed pressure reducers to limit water consumption

To reduce and sort the waste

We have put in place waste bins to encourage recycling in rooms and common areas
We sort all types of waste and give new life to obsolete objects
We order a majority of products in bulk or large packaging to limit unnecessary packaging
We offer ethical hygiene and beauty products in large sizes to reduce plastic packaging waste
Our customers are encouraged to turn off the light in their room when they are not there and to reuse their towels
We filter our water ourselves, to offer the best still and sparkling water in the restaurant and in the rooms while avoiding any transport, storage and creation of waste.

We prioritise vegetables in our restaurant and limit the use of animal proteins
We use organic, local and fair-trade products as much as possible
Products used for the maintenance of the premise are eco-certified, promising better air quality and fewer health risks
